| - Can I bring the script developed with M2mpower IDE (Sony Ericsson)? |
Yes,
Code developed with the old environment IDE I (Sony Ericsson GT47, GM47, GT1010, etc..) Is transferable to M2mpower IDE II. |
| - What's the difference between the two products WTS GP4040 and GP8880 WTS? |
Both have the platform IDE M2mpower II and the difference in Hardware interfaces available:
- WTS GP8880: there are 8 I / O that can be completely configured as Digital Input, Digital Output and Analog Input (12 Bit). All I / O are low (obviously not Isolated) and compatible with levels electrica lincluding and 0 to 5V.
- WTS GP4040: there are 4 inputs optcoupler and 4 outputs Open Collector (example: directly drive a relay DIN framework 24V, 100 mA)
|
| - Can I use a WTS GP4040 as a small PLC? |
Yes, you can use the module GP4040 DIN standard with 4 inputs (OPTOCOUPLER), 4 Output (Open Collector) and a "Modem" GSM / GPRS quad-band to replace all of a PLC MODEM + GSM / GPRS with all significant advantages in terms of cost of the solution, system reliability, simple means to "educate" the system to make all you can do, from checking the status of an entry, changing the output (ON / OFF) , use simple and immediate services SMS, calls, and connections GPRS packets with the IP stack of protocols available and many other easy-to-use tools.
|
| - What 'M2mpower IDE II? |
M2mpower IDE is a platform Hardware, Firmware and Software (linguage C) complete quickly develop your applications GSM / GPRS / EDGE (soon UMTS and DECT) with an Integrated Environment (IDE), which offers many resources :
- Hardware: Input, Output, "Modem GSM / GPRS, Converter A / D (12bit), non-volatile memory, others Device specifications and I2C Bus expansion;
- Software: Libraries complete for immediate and intuitive access to all resources and Hardware Firmware;
Today the IDE version II has COMPILATORE and LOADER for loading code in executable format with all the resulting benefits in terms of efficiency and reliability.

I connected the Ericsson FTC251m to a fax, byt I don't succeed to
send/receive any fax. Why ? Do I need some particular setting ? |
| The Ericsson FCT 251m doesn't need of particular settings for to
send or to receive of the fax, it is necessary only to check if
the used fax belongs to the group G3 or no. Because if it belongs
G3 group it doesn't need particular strings, instead if it is not
belongs G3 group it is necessary to insert in the seding or receipt
a numerical string (as brought in the "Manual User Guide for
the Consumer"). However we recommend to user only Canon's fax.
|
| - I don't
succeed to send/receive Sms in format text with my Ericsson FCT251m
. Why? |
| As brought in the "Manual User Guide for the consumer"
the Ericsson FCT doesn't support SMS in format text but only PDU,
however is available an accessory that connected to the FCT it allows
to receive SMS also in format text. The accessory is the display
DA20 that over showing on screen the messages in format text it
allows to see the list of the lost calls. |

My application operates with the transmission of DTMF tones; I
can transmit tones, but I don' t receive them. |
DTMF
tones can be directly transmitted via the serial link but they
cannot be received. A demodulator has to be inserted, converting
received audio signals in serial signals. |

I have a subscription for Fax and Data service, but I do not succeed
in transmitting |
Even if Fax and Data service is subscribed, sometimes
the service is not activated by the Provider. In order to be
sure about this, the following verifications should be performed:
a) Two different numbers have to be available.
b) If they are available, another simple test can be performed.
From a normal telephone, call the one of the two numbers dedicated
to the Data service: If the typical modem noise can be heard,
(and the mobile indicates "data or fax call" on the
display), then the service has been correctly activated, and
the cause of the problem is somewhere else. Vice versa, if the
line appears free, the Provider probably did not activate the
service. A good percentage of malfunctions is solved in this
way. |
